Our lucky streak with lions continued early today when we came across a pride of 7 near Mphafa Hide in the south. There were two big males in the pride and they were snapping and snarling at each other in an apparent display of dominance. Eventually they seemed to settle their differences and sat down together. A little later at the main Umfolozi bridge two lionesses were chilling out against the bank in a shady area. General game was poor today and it seems the animals are just as fed up with the wind and dry weather as us humans are !! There were large buffalo herds at all the main river crossings today and we also had good elephant and rhino sightings.
