Our day started in magnificent fashion today when we were treated to a spectacle of 15 wild dogs at the main Umfolozi bridge. They were in a playful mood and entertained us for around 45 minutes before wandering off, probably to find breakfast !! Just before that we drove alongside two hyenas who had probably got wind of the dogs but decided to hang back… a wise move considering they were two and the dogs were fifteen !! Elsewhere in the Park we had a good elephant sighting at Umganu picnic site while we were having lunch and there was a reported lion sighting between markers 21 & 22 in the south. The weather started off mild and a little breezy but then a hot gale force northerly wind kicked in to make things extremely unpleasant for the rest of the day.
