EuroZulu Safaris – Monday 11 August 2014

Highlight of today was a great cheetah sighting in Nyalazi quarry near Masinda camp. It was a perfect male specimen and he was strutting his stuff for us big time !! Eventually he crossed right in front of our vehicle on his way into the bush. Earlier we had another good cat sighting near view site 17 in the south, this time a big lion with a very dark mane sitting majestically on a ridge not far from our vehicle. Also at marker 17 we were treated to a breeding herd of elephants playing in the Umfolozi river. Elsewhere in the Park there was a good wild dog sighting. General game was sparse today. Our lunch at Umbondwe picnic site was a little stressful today thanks to two huge male baboons who were very aggressive towards us. These two primates have been hanging around this area for a few days now and are becoming a problem.
