EuroZulu Safaris – Sunday 29 June 2014

A beautiful day greeted us as we entered the Park today and there was plenty of general game around in the first hour. We also had good bird sightings including a martial eagle and a tawny eagle. Towards the end of Sontuli loop we experienced the highlight of our day : a cheetah lying in the bush about 50 meters from our car ! It must have eaten during the night because warthogs and impalas passed by within a few meters of it without any reaction whatsoever!
Later during the morning we found ourselves in the middle of a small herd of elephants near marker 18 in the south. The Park is extremely dry and the level of the water in the rivers is no more than ankle deep, very worrying considering the dryest part of the season is yet to come. All in all though, another good day in Africa…again!!
