EuroZulu Wildlife Diary – Friday 23 May 2014

The shortest day of the winter will soon be upon us and we felt it this morning… it was COLD out there early on !! As a result of this the bush did not yield up her secrets easily and we had to work hard for our rewards. But… rewarded we were when 3 lionesses and a lion strolled down the river bed at marker 15 Umfolozi, and then wandered up the river bank, heading down Sontuli loop. Elephants have been scarce recently and this trend continued today although we did eventually encounter two bulls later on during the morning. We also enjoyed good rhino, giraffe and buffalo sightings so, all in all we had nothing to complain about.
