November 25, 2013

Weather : The pattern recently has been cool overcast mornings warming later with a stiff breeze….and today was no exception !!

This morning we had a great 15 minutes with 2 wild dogs walking on the road near Masinda Lodge in the south. A little later we found a lazy lioness chilling out in the river bed towards marker 15 in the south. Today was a great day for birds, including a juvenile African Crowned eagle, a Tawny eagle, and a black breasted Snake Eagle. Elephant sightings were scarce and we had to settle for a lone Bull near Umganu towards lunch time.

Big Five sightings : Lion, Elephant, Rhino, Buffalo….and wild dogs.

General Game : Warthogs, Wildebeest, Giraffe, Baboon, Antelope, Zebra etc.
