EuroZulu Guided Tours & Safaris Hluhluwe / Umfolozi : Thursday 20 November 2014

Today had an amazing start : We saw four of the big five ( as usual the leopard was the missing link) on the corridor road before we had even entered the Park gate !! The lions that we saw was the Bridge pride which we’ve been seeing for a while now, but this morning we found them lying next to the corridor road a few kilometres past the Nyalazi gate entrance !! These cats get around!! A feature of today was the number of new born animals we encountered on our travels, including warthog, zebra and wildebeest. Some of these animals were still wobbly on their feet but it’s amazing to see how quickly they grow and become self sufficient. At Bhavalomu pan near to the main Umfolozi bridge three elephants were wallowing in the mud. They were so entertaining we could have watched them for hours if we had the time. There are plenty of white rhinos around at the moment but we saw only one giraffe during the entire day !
