EuroZulu Safaris – Friday 8 August 2014

Hyenas are always good to see and this morning we got three of these amazing carnivores before we had even got to the main Umfolozi Bridge. A little later near view point 17 there were 2 lions and 1 lioness chilling out looking over the river. We heard later that they tried to make a kill shortly after we left the scene. At the same place a large herd of elephants were drawing their daily water rations from the river ! At Bhejane Hide there was a procession of general game and then, the highlight of the day : A Bateleur perched on a tree limb not more than 10 meters from our vehicle. It was the best sighting ever of this stunning bird  !!
